I always loved the medical field but after volunteering in both human and veterinary medicine, I knew veterinary medicine was my home. Helping those with no voice was not only a challenge but a calling. I started volunteering at 14 years old and slowly worked my way up. I continued working in veterinary hospitals while I got my Bachelors in Biology at The University of Scranton. Then I focused on general practice and emergency medicine while getting my DVM at The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University.
My first goal is for the client to feel educated on what we discussed and feel confident in the treatment plan we created together. I want my clients to feel empowered in their choices and I want my patients to have the very best life they can. My second goal is to provide the most stress-free exam that I can for my patients. I focus on Fear Free techniques and protocols to achieve this. I am very aware of how my mannerisms and body language affect patients and I strive to find a special treat they can enjoy during the appointment.
I have a 12-year-old black lab named Layla and a 3-year-old white and blue parakeet named Tiki.
I love baking, knitting, and reading in my free time.
My fun fact is I used to fence during college. My specialty was the foil.
